John Edward Pryme died on Friday 28th September 1917, aged 23 years, and was buried in OUTTERSTEENE COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, BAILLEUL, Nord, France.

He was born on 18th October 1893 in Quarry Yard, Sutton-in-Ashfield, the son of Samuel Alma and Hannah Pryme.  Samuel Alma Pryme was a Miner and a native of Sutton-in-Ashfield, who married Hannah Huskinson in 1877. At the time of the 1901 census the family were living in Skegby. 

His elder brother, Samuel Alma Pryme, is also remembered on Sutton's Memorial.

At his death he was the husband of Eliza Jane Pryme, 3 Quarry Yard, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.

Pryme - In loving memory of my dear Husband, late John E. Pryme, of Notts & Derbys, who died of wounds received in France on the 27th September, in his 24th year. In victory's hour we'll not forget Our gallant comrades sleeping, Their son of glory ne'er will set, Safe in an empire's keeping. "Gone but not forgotten". - From loving wife and little darling Beatrice, Brother-in-law, Arthur, Brother and Sister-in-law, Mr & Mrs Blyther and Son, of Stanton Hill, and little Sarah Ann, of Underwood.
