William Purseglove died on Tuesday 19 February 1918, Age 20, and was remembered on the PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Devon, United Kingdom.
The S. S. Barrowmore was torpedoed and sunk in the Atlantic by the German submarine U 94 whilst on a voyage from Huelva to Port Talbot, with 25 souls lost.
He was the son of William Joseph and Georgiana Pursglove, of 8 Howard Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottingham.
