Richard Simms died on Sunday 14th October 1917, Age 21, and he was buried in the POELCAPELLE BRITISH CEMETERY, Langemark-Poelkapelle, West-V., Belgium.

He was the son of John and Mary Ann Simms, of 11 Club Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts. His Uncle, George Bath, and his brother, George Simms, are also remembered on Sutton War Memorial.
