William Turner died on 18th May 1918, aged 19, and was buried in the NIEDERZWEHREN CEMETERY, Kassel, Hessen, Germany.

He was born c1899 to parents George and Florence Turner. George Turner was a Coal Miner, and a native of Sutton-in-Ashfield, who married Florence Stevenson at St Mary's Church, Sutton, in August 1896. At the time of his death the family resided at 14 Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
