Rowland Arthur Walters died on Friday 23rd August 1918, Age 23, and was buried in the DOUCHY-LES-AYETTE BRITISH CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France.

He was born on 11th March 1895, at Alfreton Road, Sutton, to parents Joseph and Mary Walters. Joseph Walters was a Coal Miner, later Colliery Deputy, and a native of Heage, Derbys. He was living with his family at Bentinck Cottages, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, at the time of the 1901 census, but at the time of Rowland's death resided at 20 Regent Street. Later they lived at 68 High Pavement, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
