Abraham Wass died on Tuesday 4th December 1917, aged 33 years, and was buried at the TINCOURT NEW BRITISH CEMETERY, Somme, France.
He was born on 7th Fenruary 1884, in the Idlewells, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and his parents were Isaac & Annie Wass. Isaac Wass was a Mason and Builder, and a native of Sutton.

The Military Representative appealed for the certificate granted to Abraham Wass (33) Forest Street, a Class A man, to be cancelled, as he was not now engaged in scavenging work. Wass said that he was still engaged on farm work. They had two farms, one belonging to him and the other to his father, and he had assisted on both. Altogether there were 100 acres and 27 head of cattle. The Tribunal agreed to the certificate being cancelled.
