Douglas Wilcockson died on Tuesday 31st July 1917, Age 22, and is commemorated on the YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

He was born c1896 at Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents Joseph & Emma Wilcockson. Joseph Wilcockson was a Coal Miner, and in 1901 the family were living on Chatsworth Street, Sutton. At the time of Douglas's death they resided at 102, St. Michael's Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.
