Walter William Wilson died on Wednesday 5th July 1916, aged 23 years, and was commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. He is also remembered on the Huthwaite War Memorial.
He was born c1893 at Hucknall Huthwaite, to parents Alfred & Phoebe Wilson. Alfred Wilson was a Coal Miner, and a native of Huthwaite, who married Phoebe Wilson at St Mary's church, Sutton, in December 1883. The family were living at Common Road, Huthwaite in 1901.
He was also the husband of Mrs Gladys Wilson (formerly Ellis), who was living at 34 Park Street, Sutton in Ashfield at the time of his death.
