John Wilsoncroft died on Saturday 12th October 1918, aged 30 years, and was buried in ROCQUIGNY-EQUANCOURT ROAD BRITISH CEMETERY, MANANCOURT, Somme, France.

He was born on 8th September 1888 at Union Court, Mansfield, to parents Henry and Annie Wilsoncroft. Henry Wilsoncroft was a Labourer, who married Annie Parkin at St Peter's Church Mansfield in August 1886. At the time of John's death the family lived at 2 Central Street, Mansfield Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts. 

John's brothers -  Thomas Wilsoncroft and Henry Wilsoncroft - are also commemorated on Sutton's War Memorial.
