Walter James Garfield died on 13th September 1940, aged 25 years, and is buried in the BERGEN (MOLLENDAL) CHURCH CEMETERY, Norway.

He was the son of Walter S. and Emma Mary Garfield, of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.
