George William Gwynn died on 17th October 1945, aged 25 years, and was buried in the TAIPING WAR CEMETERY, Malaysia. He died in rather mysterious circumstances whilst on his way home. The ship was in port and he fell overboard; his body was recovered some five days later.
He was born 1920 in Sutton-in-Ashfield, to parents John William and Mabel Gwynn. John William Gwynn was a native of Dawley, Shropshire.
