George Edward Kenworthy died on 19th December 1941, aged 32 years, and was remembered on the PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Devon.


HMS Neptune


HMS Neptune hit a number of mines in a deep-water minefield, laid about 20 miles from Tripoli. All but one of the 768 officers and crew aboard perished. Further details about this loss can be found on the website of The Neptune Association.

George Edward Kenworthy was the son of George and Annie Kenworthy, and the husband of Ivy Kenworthy, of Pennycross, Devon.
