Stanley Shaw died on Wednesday 18 August 1943*, Age 31, and was remembered on the RUNNYMEDE MEMORIAL, Surrey, United Kingdom. The Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede commemorates by name over 20,000 airmen who were lost in the Second World War during operations from bases in the United Kingdom and North and Western Europe, and who have no known graves.

Stanley was a Rear Gunner in Bomber Command & was based at Dunholme Lodge, Scampton. The Pilot of their fatal mission was 20-year-old Canadian, Reg Harding, and the whole crew perished.

Stanley Shaw was born c1912 to parents John & Hannah SHAW. On the 3rd June 1933, Stanley Shaw married Elsie Stendall at St. Michael’s Church, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and they had two daughters Elaine & Pamela. At the time of Stanley’s death - Elsie, Elaine & Pamela lived in Stapleford
