John Eric Willey died on Saturday 31st January 1942, and was remembered on the PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, Hampshire.

He was the son of Samuel Oldham Edward and Sarah Elizabeth Willey, of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. He was also the husband of Ethel Irene Willey, of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

HMS Culver

John Eric Willey was serving aboard the H.M.S. Culver, which sunk after being hit by torpedos fired from a German U-Boat on 31st January 1942.
