Located on New Street. Originally named the Green Dragon (and in a couple of directories misnamed as the George & Dragon). In 1852, the sign portraying the Green Dragon was blown down during a hurricane. The then Landlord, Mr S Willey, bought the sign 'Devonshire Arms Inn' from Nottingham to replace the original sign, thereby renaming it.
It was aquired by Mansfield Brewery in 1894, at a cost of £3,250. In the 1896/7 directory, the occupant was recorded as 'Mansfield Brewery Co.' and the tenant was not mentioned by name.

It was rebuilt by the brewery before 1935, at which time it changed from being a rectangular shaped building, to the more distinctive shape seen today. It is still trading.
