
Located at what was once known as just Fullwood, a hamlet within the parish of Sutton-in-Ashfield, but is now Alfreton Road, Fulwood.
This property was previously known as Duke of Wellington until 1843 when it was renamed as the Duke of Sussex, after the son of King George III who died in 1843. The business is still trading.
This pub was run by three generations of Joseph Fletcher. Between 1841 and 1851 the property passed from Joseph snr. to Joseph jnr., and again between 1871 and 1881, when the son of Joseph jnr. became head of the household.
